Concealed Fastener Panel Edge Detail
After all of the eave drip has been installed you can install the offset cleat. Place one row of butyl tape to the top of the eave drip 1-1/2" back from the outside edge of the eave drip. Place a second row 1/2" behind the first. Now place the offset cleat, with the raised leg to the outside, flush with the outside edge of the eave drip, setting the back leg in the butyl tape and secure it with #10x1" pancake head woodsrews. Now you are ready to install the panels. Notch the rib of the panel exactly 1" back from the edge of the panel. Do not cut the flat of the panel. Place the hemming tool over the edge of the panel firmly against the end of the panels ribs and rotate 180 degrees. Remove the tool and use your hands to complete the bend. Now set the panel over hanging the roof edge about 1-1/2". Push the roof panel up the roof so that the panel hem locks onto the offset cleat. Then secure the panel with #10x1" pancake head woodscrews.
